Introducing the Latest Generation of Amazon’s Blink Outdoor 4 Camera
Amazon unveiled the latest iteration of its Blink Outdoor 4 camera on Thursday. This newest addition to Amazon’s Blink home security lineup boasts enhanced image quality while staying true to its commitment of a two-year battery life.
Available for purchase at $119.99, the device comes with a range of upgrades aimed at elevating the overall user experience. These enhancements include improved low-light sensitivity, wider panoramic views (measuring 143 degrees diagonally), and dual-zone motion detection. These features collectively work to enhance both image and video quality. By subscribing to a Blink plan, users can leverage a novel person-detection functionality and personalize notifications for heightened motion accuracy, effectively minimizing false or irrelevant alerts.
Just like other Blink cameras and devices, the Outdoor 4 seamlessly integrates with Amazon’s Alexa. With Alexa compatibility, users gain the ability to engage in two-way communication, access video feeds at their convenience, and receive hands-free alerts.
Blink stands as one of Amazon’s primary players in the home security sector, alongside Ring, renowned for its popular doorbell camera. In a strategic move, Amazon acquired Blink in late 2017, making a substantial investment of approximately $90 million.
