Disney Unveils Podcast About Frozen Addressing Climate Change

Disney has made an intriguing addition to the Frozen franchise, and it doesn’t come in the form of an animated film but rather a podcast.

The entertainment giant has unveiled a fresh audio venture called “The Disney Frozen Podcast: Forces of Nature.” This podcast features Elsa and Anna from the original film as they confront spiritual and mechanical challenges threatening Arendelle and its environment. While the story centers around the film’s main characters, the narrative will primarily be guided by ABC television personality Ginger Zee, who will accompany the two sisters on their quest.

The Frozen Podcast Expands the Universe This series is positioned as both a spinoff and a sequel to the first movie, taking place in the interim between the events of Frozen and Frozen II. Throughout the narrative, familiar characters will reappear or make cameos, building on the established Frozen universe. Alongside these beloved figures, the podcast will introduce fresh characters. However, Disney has chosen to withhold further information about these characters and their potential ties to the rumored Frozen III.

Disney had previously disclosed intentions for a third full-length film following the triumph of Frozen II. Yet, specific details about the movie’s storyline and potential release date are yet to be disclosed. The extent to which the podcast’s characters and plot elements will influence future installments remains uncertain.

This podcast is not the first instance of Disney extending the series canon. The short film “Frozen Fever” premiered in theaters a few years subsequent to the initial film’s release, serving as a bridge between the two movies. While it remains unclear if lead voice actors Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell, who voiced Elsa and Anna, are involved in the podcast, they did participate in “Frozen Fever.”
