Specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra have emerged online, months before the anticipated launch of the flagship smartphone for 2024. Expected to succeed the Galaxy S23 Ultra unveiled this year, the leaked image on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) suggests that the upcoming handset could feature a flat-edged display. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to be equipped with Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which is also anticipated to power flagship smartphones across various manufacturers next year.
Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), a reliable tipster, shared an image of the purported Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra on Monday, revealing the front part of the phone. Unlike its predecessor, this model appears to sport a display without curved edges. The bezels on the display resemble those of this year’s model. The leaked image also showcases a centrally aligned hole-punch cutout at the top of the display for the selfie camera.
Additionally, Ice Universe leaked the display specifications for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. According to the tipster, the smartphone will feature a 6.78-inch display with a resolution of 1,440×3,120 pixels, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, and a peak brightness of up to 2,500 nits.
Previous indications suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra would measure 162.3x79x8.6mm. The phone is expected to be powered by either Samsung’s Exynos 2400 chipset or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in different markets. It is anticipated to run on Google’s upcoming Android 14 operating system with the company’s One UI 6 interface.
Earlier reports also hinted at a powerful 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. This would be a significant improvement from the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
However, it’s important to approach these leaked details cautiously, as the South Korean tech giant has not officially announced any plans regarding the purported handset.
